Café Asia 2019, 7th International Coffee & Tea (ICT) Industry Expo, and 6th Sweets & Bakes Asia

Café Asia 2019, the 7th International Coffee & Tea (ICT) Industry Expo, as well as the 6th Sweets & Bakes Asia is here again to offer a one-stop convenient sourcing hub for the F&B industry! The three shows is able to foster new collaborations, explore opportunities, and to present the latest trends and developments to trade professionals and members of the public.

During 21 to 23 March 2019 at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore Expo & Convention Centre, Cafe Asia 2019 will showcase an array of coffee beans sourced from the coffee bean-growing countries around the globe, various equipment, machinery, accessories, supplies and products for the effective running of cafes and tea houses.

A key highlight of the show in 2019 will be the inaugural ACF Specialty Coffee Auction – a joint event by the ASEAN Coffee Federation (ACF) and CEMS to feature coffee of specialty grade from participating exhibitors of Café Asia and from ASEAN. Specialty coffee beans offered in the auction observe a dedicated process to acquire better quality beans.

The three shows will also be joined by the inaugural Restaurant Asia 2019 (RA 2019) to present a dedicated showcase of the latest in cutting-edge restaurant, kitchen and culinary equipment. It also offer solutions and supplies that will address the needs of restaurant owners, from front of house reception to the back of house operations.

Visitors at the show will also be treated to a high-octane three national-level coffee championships. These competitions will see Singapore’s home-grown baristas, brewers, latte artists, coffee cocktail artists, and students contend in the Singapore Latte Art Championship, Singapore Cup Tasters Championship and the Singapore Coffee in Good Spirits Championship. Winners of the respective national titles will represent Singapore on the international stage at the world championships later this year.

Over three days, visitors and bread-lovers will be able to attend cooking studio workshops and demonstrations at the show. Activities will include hands-on sessions on baking the classic Ham Mayo Bread treat, workshops on baking the soft and fluffy Souffle Cheesecake, as well as demonstrations on how to bake the all-time favourite flourless Gateau au Chocolat. Cocktail lovers will also be feted with three daily demonstrations by coffee experts on how to concoct coffee cocktails using coffee liqueur.

Some highlights in the exhibition:

Eco-friendly and biodegradable rice straws by NLYTECH

The Halal-certified rice straws are made out of rice and tapioca which are completely edible, they proved to be quite durable as they can last in cold drinks between 4 and 10 hours whereas, in hot drinks, they can be used for around 2 to 3 hours. These fully biodegradable straws would decompose within 90 days if not used.


According to Nlytech Biotech CEO Mr Law Yee Tee, the product is expected to be commercialised in the Malaysia local market, as well as for export markets, starting in May 2019; the price of the rice straws “will be very much affordable compared to other types of eco-friendly straws”.

Gourmet Gelato by Momolato

Momolato is an award-winning gelato supplier in Singapore and Asia, ranking top 10 out of 30,000 gelato artisans worldwide. It is no wonder the gelato designer Chef dare to make the statement that Sis and I will stop eating the Gelato on our hand (from another stall) after tasting theirs.

Signature Kampung chickens by Aqina

Aqina is showcasing their ‘unique product’ in the Cafe Asaia show – ‘Kampung’, or village, chicken, is a breed native to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. The chicken has colourful feathers, primarily brown and red, and its meat is leaner and firmer than other chickens.

Aqina’s chickens and processes are certified halal by JAKIM (Department of Islamic Development Malaysia) in Malaysia and MUIS (Islamic Religious Council of Singapore) in Singapore.
