My little experiment

Thinking of getting something for my “girlfriend” (GF2), so asked JC if it is worth to get a diffuser for it, after some struggle I decided that maybe I should try to get hands on and make one by myself following the guide I found online: DSLR Pop-up flash diffuser.

I got a film canister and make a diffuser, but after some experiment I decided that my built in flash is still too strong, so I wrap a piece of white paper around it:

So here is the result.

I realised that the diffuser only works better when doing close up shoots like the one above, not sure why, maybe I overlook something? Will update on this blog again if I managed to fix it 🙂

  1. That's an interesting way to do a difuser. I've been struggling with photographing glass, and I know I need to difuse the light, but I never thought about how to do it. I'll try it this way and see if it works.
