A lot of people around me are inspired to become content creators, but they are not sure how to get started. While we can always take a course to study content creation, most online courses are created by overseas trainers and may not be relevant in the Singapore context. Bear in mind, Singapore is a small market, and the way we work is much different compared to bigger countries.
I’m glad to have gone through Irene K’s training program: Starter’s Guide to Mastering Personal Branding & Content Creation Career in 2024!. It answers many aspiring content creators’ common questions and mainly focuses on the Singapore market, but applies to overseas markets too.
How do I know if content creation is for me?
Start by assessing your passion for storytelling and creativity. If you enjoy sharing your thoughts, ideas, and experiences with others, it’s a good sign. The training program reminds us to know ourselves and identify our niche. It also provides a lot of useful tips that we may overlook while struggling to generate content for our personal branding.
Do content creators make good money?
Generally, in Singapore, brands are less generous when it comes to paying content creators, especially with the saturation of the market. However, I have a few personal friends who are full-time content creators. Irene reminds us that content creators do not need to limit their earnings to just a few social media posts; we can be creative to achieve our goals. Some platforms we are so used to being ‘content receivers’ that we nearly forget they need someone to create the content.
Free Content Creation Courses
Irene understands some may still wonder if they are suitable to become content creators or may hesitate to pay for courses they are not confident will help them. Thus, she provides free content creator course for those who still have doubts. When you make up your mind to take the next step, you can sign up for her online training class. You can also contact her for one-on-one coaching for more direct feedback.

My thoughts
I love how the training program is delivered in bite-sized segments. The program analyses the pros and cons of different platforms and guides storytelling with various media during content creation. Irene also goes the extra mile by including case studies and tips, making it easier for us to relate.
