Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration @ Suntec

Our working lifestyle didn’t change much due to COVID, despite having to work from home at times. Kpo Kia still goes to school full day even when I work from home full day. The reason is, if she is at home while we are working, she tends to seek attention and might be distracting.

On the day before Kpo Kia started her first day of Primary School student life, I decided to let her have some fun. Knowing she likes Disney characters (who don’t?), I decided to take a day off to visit the Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration with her. I bought a Standard Ticket (Child) Kpo Kia; and the “Multiple Ticket Deals: 2 Standard Tickets (Adult or Child) + SG$5 Retail Voucher” deal for Kpo Kia papa and me.

Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration

Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration is a photo-worthy exhibition meant to be a tribute to Mickey Mouse. It was originally from the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and Singapore is its first stop in Asia.

There are 7 different imaginatively themed experiences for visitors. Before we entered each room, we will need to scan the QR-activated codes to participate in Pop-Up Disney! Trivia. They are filled with interesting facts on information related to Mickey and friends, a lot I only learned during the exhibition. We need to score at least 3 correct answers to receive a gift. The tricky thing is the questions are random for each of us, so it’s not easy to cheat~

Due to the COVID measures in place, visitors are not recommended to stay in a theme room for too long. We are preempted to expect to spend an hour at the exhibition, which is pretty accurate. With the 5person COVID measures, we also enjoy moments of “peacefulness” without fighting for installation to take photos with.

The Pop-Up Disney! journey starts off with Mickey and Minnie’s Love room. Kpo Kia starts busy posing for us to take photos for her once she entered the room.

Along the way, we went back in history to the Classic Mickey era.

The Mickey Loves Singapore: Dreamland Carnival room is unique to Singapore, and is conceptualised by WhenIWasFour, a local artist. Kpo Kia papa and I seems to be more excited than Kpo Kia in this section.

We took part in the Hidden Mickey Challenge at the Klook booth within the Mickey Mart retail store but walked away empty-handed.  🙁

At the end of the journey, we redeemed the Pop-Up Disney! Trivia gift for Kpo Kia. Since there are a total of 3 designed, each of us redeemed one, and goes back to Kpo Kia!
