“There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one.” – Jill Churchill
This year mother’s day, I decided to make some cookies for mum. Initially, I was making them by myself while Kpo Kia was taking her nap, but she wakes up earlier than expected, so she joined in the fun and helped me. As it’s my first time trying out, I only do a sampling portion of them, thus only 2 small pieces for mum.
It’s only after becoming a mother myself, then I truly feel the pain of motherhood.
It’s never fun, it’s a lot of going against those loves one/elderly, who is holding a different belief in bringing up a kid; it’s a lot of unappreciated by the kid no matter how hard you try to instill the ‘good values’ for the benefit of them in the long run; it’s a lot of undervalued by companies because we cannot stay overtime.
Regardless, thank you, mummy. I love you (although sometimes we quarrel, sometimes you annoyed me), for the love that you have given us, the time and your youth, the endless effort in trying to path a more comfortable future us, is something we can never pay back to you.
Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, mother-to-be, and those who was once a mother.
