Food Review: Overly Cheezy – Nothing is too cheesy for cheese lover

Ever since the circuit breaker, I have been cooking much more frequently as compared to the past, this means I have endless preparation work, cooking, and washing everyday. So at times, we will order in and occasionally, eat out, to give my poor hands which are suffering from eczema, a break from all the washings.

I am glad to have the opportunity to review the pizza from Overly Cheezy Pizzeria – which is located in the heartlands of Hougang (not too far from my house in Sengkang!). Apparently it’s the first pizzeria in Singapore to provide handmade pizzas with 5-cheese (Gruyere cheese – mostly used in high-end restaurants, mozzarella, emmental, cheddar orange, and parmesan) recipes, by chefs across Japan, Italy, France, and Singapore.

Overly Cheezy bestselling flavours are Trufflicious Hawaiian and Trufflicious Wild Mushrooms, and offer unique pizza crusts like the Creamy Tomato and the Milky Avocado Crust which are infused with milk and tomato, or milk and avocado. The price is very reasonable at $22 for 2 regular pizzas, and $33 for 2 large pizzas (there is an additional surcharge between $3 to $5 on specific pizzas though).

The food arrived at my house warm and well packed.

This time round, I am trying out the classic Cheezy Cannonballs (with Pate Feuilletee Crust) and their new Golden Lava Chicken (with classic thin crust) pizzas. For the sides, I am having the Cheeze salted egg fries and Overly wings, and as a molten cake lover, I am glad to get both Belgium Chocolate Lava Cake and Hokkaido Matcha Lava Cake for my desserts.

Although this is the first time we have pizza with Pate Feuilletee Crust, Kpo Kia endorsed it instantly and even asked for the crust left on the plate (‘dropped’ Kpo Kia papa’s slice of Cheezy Cannonballs). All of us are cheese lovers and we love the generous amount of cheese on the Cheezy Cannonballs pizza.

If you love cheese, you must order the Cheezy Cannonballs Pizza!
The thin crust is really thin! Personally, I like pizza with thin-crust, if the crust is too thick, I will feel like eating a topping on bread @_@

The aroma of the Overly wings is simply irresistible, after taking the photos of the table of food, I wolfed down a piece of the wing, can’t even wait till Kpo Kia papa to fetch Kpo Kia home. Although it looks a bit dark, I find it crispy and juicy, not too greasy to my liking. Kpo Kia find it a bit spicy, but the fact that she rather keeps sipping water while eating the wings ‘surrender’ them to us, means the fussy girl must really like how it’s cooked.

Glad that the salted egg is not overwhelming and the Cheeze salted egg fries is cheesy over saltish.
Overly wings will definitely be my must-order-side when I order pizza from Overly Cheezy again

I will highly recommend the Lava Cake for your dessert to goes along with the pizza. They reached my house warm, and I’m really glad to be able to enjoy the molten oozing out from the gooey center of the cake.

The Hokkaido Matcha Lava Cake is better than my expectation. It’s not too sweet, and can really taste the matcha lava.
